Tech Expert’s Top Tips to Inspire Children to Learn
Television host and tech expert Amber Mac is no stranger to helping kids learn. As a mother to a young son, she is constantly striving to find fun, innovative ways to help her child learn more. Here are her four tips to help kids acquire new skills, without feeling like they are doing additional homework:
Take a Day Trip
A visit to a local museum, aquarium or science center is a fun way to get kids involved in learning new information and skills. Be sure to pick up an audio guide, if available – your kids will boost their listening skills and pick up some new nuggets of information.
Plan a Vacation
A vacation or weekend getaway is a great way to get kids learning about a new culture or environment. Pack learning tools to make the most of time spent on the road or in the air.
Make Art
An art project will encourage your child to express their creativity. Provide him or her with some art paper and a variety of paint colors and given them free reign, so they can create a completely original work of art. It will help them find their personal style and focus their attention – a necessary skill when learning any subject matter (or studying for an upcoming test).
Play a Game
Crosswords and board games are simple and effective ways for your kids to increase their vocabulary. Trivia challenges are also an engaging way to ensure your children continue to learn new words and boost their grammar.
