TD ‘Liwayway’ to Bring Rains Over the Visayas, Mindanao Monday
The trough of tropical depression Liwayway will bring light to heavy rain showers in some areas in the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday.
In its severe weather bulletin #2, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said affected areas include the regions of Caraga, northern Mindanao, eastern Visayas, and Central Visayas.
Liwayway, moving northwest at 35 km. per hour, was last spotted at 335 kilometers northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
PAGASA said Liwayway is less likely to make landfall but may intensify into a tropical storm within the day.
Meanwhile, the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan will experience rains brought about by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 25-33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 24-33 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 17-22 degrees Celsius; SBMA 23-30 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 24-32 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-30 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
