TD Agaton Slowly Moves Eastward of Samar
Tropical Depression Agaton is last spotted around the vicinity of Marabut, Samar, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on PAGASA’s Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 26, Agaton was last spotted in the said area moving slowly eastward with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 1 is declared in the south portion of Masbate, namely in Dimasalang, Cawayan, Dimasalang, Cawayan, and Pio V. Corpuz.
In Visayas, TCWS number 1 is declared in Eastern Samar, Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and the northeastern portions of Cebu namely Daanbantayan, Medellin, City of Bogo, Tabogon, Borbon, Sogod) including Camotes Island.
Meanwhile, in Mindanao, TWCS number 1 is also declared in the Dinagat Islands.
According to PAGASA’s weather forecast, in the next 12 hours, TD Agaton will arrive at the coastal waters of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h. At around 5:00 PM tomorrow (April 13), TD Agaton is predicted to be at 140 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar and will weaken into a low-pressure area. (ASC)
