Task Force Created to Accelerate Cagayan Relief Efforts
With the ongoing rescue efforts in flood-hit areas in Cagayan Valley, President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the creation of a task force to accelerate the sending of support to the victims of the devastating flood.
The task force is composed of government agencies that are relevant to rescue and disaster relief efforts.
“Sa madalian, gumawa ako ng hakbang – creation of a task force. Ito naman, I directed them to streamline para madali ang rehabilitation efforts (for those) affected by the typhoon,” the President said.
The task force was given a timeline to create strategies to be taken to accelerate relief efforts for the victims.
“Binibigyan ko sila ng timeline para gumawa nyang mga hakbang na ‘yan na walang delay at i-cut ‘yung red tape para mabilis ang takbo ng tulong sa tao,” he added.
The President is slated to visit Cagayan on Sunday.
Rescue efforts continue
As the rescue missions are still ongoing, the government has deployed more assets to help in the effort.
