Talisay VM Denies being Humiliated at Campaign Sorties
Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan Bucao denied reports that he was humiliated in his campaign sorties that at one time he was allegedly thrown with a stone.
“With all humility, in my more than 25 years in public service wala jud tawn ko batuha ug tamates or bisan unsa. In fairness sa nahiubos or wala makasabut,” said Bucao. (With all humility, in my more than 25 years in public service, I haven’t been thrown with tomato or anything. In fairness to those who are upset or who have not understood.)
Bucao believed the issue as something to do with politics. He is running for reelection against opposition camp’s Romeo Villarante, an incumbent councilor and former Vice Mayor Aber Belleza.
Bucao, an administration bet, was reported in a local tabloid that vendors threw stones at him when he visited Lagtang Public Market recently.
“Unfair sad para sa mga vendors. Dili na tinuod kay sa pakighimamat nako sa mga vendors gihatagan man ko nila’g higayun,” he explained. (It’s unfair too for the vendors. That’s not true because in my relating with the vendors, they gave me a chance.) He said he also got the same treatment from vendors in Nacario market in Barangay Tabunok.
“I’m putting up a fair fight, I still shake hands with their supporters who I know will never vote for me. And in fairness to them, dawaton nila akong kamot. So I don’t know nganong naay issue nga gibato ko,” Bucao said.
