Talisay Traffic Czar Requests CSCR Safety Measures
Talisay City’s traffic czar, head of the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA) Jonathan “Joy” Tumulak revealed that he requested the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to help them come up with safety measures to prevent fatal vehicular accidents in Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR).
Recently, a motorcycle rider died when a sedan coming from Cebu City rammed the center island and jumped into the opposite lane and hit the rider. It happened at the infamous sharp turn area at the vicinity of Talisay fish port.
Tumulak also suggested that they should install precautionary equipment like reflectorized directional signs and safety railings. Tumulak added that the center island should be painted with neon or bright colors so drivers can be aware of it.
Tumulak also said that rumble strips can also be helpful since it alerts inattentive drivers of potential danger.
Tumulak is hopeful that the installation of safety measures and equipment would be as soon as possible to prevent more vehicular accidents in the future. (MLC)
