Talisay Police Tightens Security Measures Amid Pandemic

The Talisay City Police Station tightens security measures and border controls to contain the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

5 simultaneous checkpoint operations are being conducted by the police force to ensure that everybody is following the quarantine protocols to which the said police station has noticed that most are following the strict implementation of Talisay City on wearing face masks and social distancing.

But despite the majority who follow the guidelines on the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), some people were still arrested for violating the said protocols.

7 people were apprehended for not bringing their quarantine passes in public and 4 were also apprehended for violating the city’s 10 PM to 5 AM curfew.

Reclassification to GCQ

Talisay City is currently placed under MECQ but Governor Gwen Garcia already signed Executive Order 17-G which aims to reclassify Talisay City from MECQ to General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

According to IATF resolution no. 29 as amended by IATF resolution no. 30, provincial governors are given authority to impose, lift or extend quarantine protocols under its jurisdiction with the concurrence from the RIATF.

RIATF will conduct the meeting today. (MLC)
