Talisay City Receives Aid from Davao

The City of Talisay on Monday received the P500,000 financial aid from Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who personally came to Cebu to hand over P18.5 million of cash assistance to affected local government units in the province.

Mayor Johnny V. Delos Reyes was at the Cebu Provincial Capitol to accept the check along with other mayors. City spokesperson Vince Monterde said the amount will be used to purchase construction material to be distributed to the affected residents.

Apart from badly damaged classrooms, the city also recorded nine totally damaged residential houses, and 238 partially damaged.

The City Council last week had already declared the city under a state of calamity so it could release funds to rebuild the damaged classrooms, help the affected families and also repair the cracks on the City Hall.

Monterde said the city has yet to determine the amount to be released from its calamity fund.
