Talisay City College Tuition Now Free
Now that Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas finally assumed office yesterday, tuition fee for the students of Talisay City College (TCC) is now free.
Before Samsam Gullas became Mayor, his grandfather, former Talisay City Mayor and now Congressman Eduardo Gullas told him to do something to make the students free of tuition fee.
Since the tuition fee is now free, number of enrollees increased according to TCC.
Dr. Richel Bacaltos, President of TCC said that before, students will have to pay a P3,000 tuition fee per semester but now it is finally and officially free.
“Libre na gyud ni tanan, ang tuition asta Miscellaneous fee (Everything is free including the tuition fee and Miscellaneous fee),” Bacaltos.
However, Bacaltos pointed out that since TCC is open for all students, they will prioritize students who are residents of the City.
TCC will require a Barangay Certification upon enrollment to prove that a student is from Talisay City.
School year 2019-2020 for Talisay City College will start on July 15 and students will no longer have to worry about anything at all.
In an interview on one of the students of TCC, a certain Jessa told MCN that she is so happy to discover that the tuition fee is free.
“Nalipay mi pagkahibalo namo nga libre na diay ang tuition kay wa nakoy laing huna hunaon kun dili ang pag skwela na lang, akong ginikanan di na mag lisud, konsumo na lang ilang huna hunaon pod (We are very happy to know that the tuition fee is free. I don’t have to worry about anything else. My parents will now only think about our every day meal and necessities).”
The Talisay City Government allocated P20 million for TCC. (MLC)
