Talisay City College Students Top Licensure Exam for Teachers
For the fifth time in a row, state-run Talisay City College (TCC) students made it to the top 10 of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), both in the elementary and secondary levels.
In the LET results for elementary level exams released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) today, Junnalie Labajo Brago, a TCC graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Special Education, placed tenth with her 87-percent rating. Another TCC graduate, Angielo Labajo Pahamutang, also got the top 10 spot in the recently released LET results, but for the secondary level. Pahamutang is a fresh graduate of Secondary Education major in Filipino.
Out of 37,117 examinees, who took the exam last March 10, 310 elementary teachers or 27.78 percent passed, while 15,223 secondary teachers out of 38,433 examinees (39.61%) made it. In TCC, out of 82 elementary teachers who took the exam, 74 passed; while out of 148 examinees from the secondary level, only 115 of them passed.
This is the fifth year in a row that TCC students topped in LET. Last year, Diana Rose Bucar Zamoras (elementary) raked the top 7 spot in the same exam; Mary Kaye Oliverio Misa (elementary) 8th in 2011 and Zaldy Villarias (elementary) who placed 10th in the 2010 exam.
