Talisay Celebrates Fiesta, City Warns Heavy Traffic
Talisay City celebrates its annual fiesta on Tuesday with the “Halad Festival” as one of the highlights.
City spokesperson Vince Monterde said at least 20 contingents are expected to participate in the parade in honor to the city’s saint Santa Teresa de Avila.
Monterde said the parade, which starts at 1 pm, will take the “Kasadya sa SRP” (in front of the city hall) area, and passes through the road of Barangay Lawaan I, and then to the Mananga Bridge.
It will also take the route to Barangays Tabunok, Bulacao, the East Visayan Academy (also in Bulacao area), and back to Tabunok passing Gaisano Fiesta Mall, and then to Sangi.
It will also pass the road to Kimba, San Roque and down to Barangay Cansojong and then to Poblacion, to the Santa Teresa de Avila Church, and then to Dumlog and finally back to the City Hall, where a program will be held.
Because of this route, Monterde said there may be no closed roads, but a heavy traffic will be expected. He advised motorists to take alternate route, or stay away from the city between 1pm and 3pm.
