Talambanons Avail Free Services

“Maayo ni ang gibuhat ni Mayor Mike Rama aron matagad among mga problema dinhi sa among barangay ug matabangan ang mga katawhan labi na ang mga kabos,” said Ernesto Hembra, Jr., 59, who is one of the hundreds of residents of Barangay Talamban who availed of the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorstep last November 13, 2015 Friday.

In an interview with the BARUGG News, Hembra who availed of the medical consultation due to his high blood pressure shared that the activity is of great help to the Cebuanos to save money, time and effort in going to the different offices in Cebu City Hall just to avail their services.

“Kanindot kaayo ni nga programa kay dako ug benepisyo sa katawhan labi na ang mga walay ikagasto pag-adto sa hospital,” he further enthuses.

For Vilma Fabregar, 41, who also availed of the medical consultation along with her 2 children, she shared that, “Nagpasalamat gyod mi Sir kay natabangan mi, ang mga serbisyo sa Cebu City Hall nagpaduol na gyod dinhi mismo sa among barangay.”

Meanwhile, the event kicked off with a Holy Mass which was officiated by Father Socrates Saldua. It was immediately followed by the formal opening of the feasts of free services.

The free services included Medical and Dental Services; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates consultation; Legal Consultation; Real Property Consultation; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells; Cedula issuance; Seedling distribution; Pet registration and vaccination; Pre-screening on Job Fair Employment referral; Free hair-cutting; Drainage and Road Maintenance; Traffic issues and Concerns consultation; Blood typing, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution; Mass Feeding; Cutting and trimming of trees; Urban Poor Related issues consultation; Seminar and orientation of drug related issues; and Information dissemination, among several others.

The City Hall at Your Doorstep is an initiative of Mayor Rama which he started in the year 2010. It aims to bring the basic services from the 22 Departments comprising the Cebu City Government closer to the people and avail it for free without going to the City Hall.

The city’s frontline services was conducted in Barangay Talamban for the fourth time now since it started its operations in 2010. Talamban is one of the eighty villages comprising this city. It is situated in the North District of the city and about 30 minutes away from the Cebu City Hall.

Furthermore, the public service program has become institutionalized and already conducted every Friday. Last week November 6 Friday it was successfully held in Barangay Sambag 1, while this coming Friday November 20 it will be held in Barangay Lahug.
