Medical Experts advised all individuals to take care of their kidneys since it is a major organ of the body.
Kidneys are the one filtering and removing our body’s waste.
Dr. Arnel Indo, Nephrologist of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) said that there are a large number of Filipinos suffering from kidney diseases because of unhealthy lifestyle.
Kidney diseases can occur if a person is heavily eating salty foods especially bulad (dried fish) which is popular among us Filipinos.
Dr. Indo added that not only salty foods can trigger kidney diseases, excess consumption of sweet foods and soft-drinks can also damage the kidney.
Dr. Indo strongly suggests that if a person is experiencing some symptoms, they should consult a doctor immediately.
“Kung lain na gani ang color sa ihi, ug naay gi bati, pa check na gyud para sigurado (If the color of your urine is unsual, you should consult a doctor right away),” Dr. Indo said.
Symptoms of kidney disease include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, sleep problems and urine color.
