Tail-end of Cold Front, ITCZ to Bring Rains over Luzon, Mindanao on Tuesday
It is going to be rainy in most parts of the country on Tuesday due to a tail-end of a cold front affecting northern Luzon and intertropical convergence zone affecting southern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The tail-end of a cold front is the front boundary of two air masses, which produces clouds and rain while ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.
For Tuesday forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the Islands of Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan and the Regions of Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, ARMM and Davao.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA) JMC/CLTC
