Tagbilaran, 1st city in the Visayas as CDI Beneficiary
(PIA) — US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg is set to visit Bohol on February 5, 2015.
He will witness with Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) represented by Mission Director Gloria Steele and Tagbilaran City represented by Mayor John Geesnell ‘Baba’ Yap II.
Tagbilaran is the first city in the Visayas region to be named as CDI.
The signing will be held at the Dagohoy Hall of Bohol Tropics on Thursday, February 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
USAID has named Tagbilaran City as one of the beneficiaries of its Cities Development Initiative (CDI) program that aims to support secondary cities to spur local economic growth.
This is also an opportune time for the U.S. Ambassador to meet the provincial officials, as well as the officials of the City of Tagbilaran and municipal mayors, and see for himself some projects of the USAID in Bohol. (mbcn/ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
