Suzuki Motor Finds Irregularities in Fuel-economy Tests: Sources
Tokyo (PNA/Kyodo) — Suzuki Motor Corp. has found irregularities in its vehicle running tests conducted to gauge fuel economy, probably involving a method not compliant with Japanese regulations, sources close to the matter said Wednesday.
The revelation involving the second-largest minicar manufacturer and well-known motorcycle maker is likely to pose a further setback for the Japanese auto industry, hard hit by Mitsubishi Motors Corp.’s data manipulation scandal.
Suzuki Motor Chairman Osamu Suzuki is expected to report to the transport ministry on the automaker’s findings later in the day, the sources said. (PNA/Kyodo)RMA/SSC
