Sun Life Marks Financial Independence Month with Wealth & Health Campaign

Survey shows Visayans least likely to make an expensive purchase but also least prepared for health says Social Weather Station as presented by Mylene Lopa, Chief Marketing Officer, Sun Life Financial Philippines.

The survey commissioned by Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. showed that only 38% of Visayans intend to make an expensive purchase, while 47 % for Luzon, 48% for NCR and 62% for Mindanao.

The study also shows that many Visayans are unprepared to handle costs related to a grave illness 57 % say they are not all prepared to fund expenses that an expensive medical treatment may require. Visayas ranks high in this category, followed by NCR 46%, then Luzon and Mindanao (both 38%).

As Sun Life once again marks the month of June as Financial Independence Month, the company is launching a campaign that urges Filipinos to prioritize financial preparedness for their health needs and employ more appropriate ways of preparing financially for their other needs.

In order to help Filipinos act on their financial concerns, Sun Life launches #FITLiveFree campaign this Financial Independence Month.

To inspire them to take care of both their wealth and health in a fun and interactive way, Sun Life will make available digital content to engage the public. Aside from online initiatives, Cebuanos can also attend the wealth and Health Forum happening at Radisson Blu Hotel on July 4.
