Sumptuous Specialties at Choobi Choobi

As Choobi Choobi is the Chinese term for “Lingaw lingaw”, so thus what Owner Constantine “Stan” Tanchan aims to deliver to his customers—a fun time with good food at reasonable prices with family and friends.

Invited friends from the media and from the Cebu Bloggers Society were in for a Choobi Choobie treat last July 22. The guests were grateful to try the different offers of the restaurant starting with the specialty of the house–the Shrimp In The Bag–a pound of shrimp which comes in five different sauce variants namely butter garlic, sauteed garlic, spicy gata, Choobi Choobi sauce and the extra spicy Waah! sauce. For the seafood-holics, this is certainly a must-try, the only in the metro at a budget-friendly price of P350. For a seafood pick around the community, it really is certainly affordable!

Next in line was the phenomenal Lola Pepang’s Fried Manok which recipe has been handed down to generations to generations in the family. Stan said that the recipe is his great-grandmother’s which the family enjoys. It is is tasty and juicy. It is pegged at P300-360. Another one is the Crispy Adobong Kanding, where rarely can one find around, and the Choobi Pata, which is equally crunchy and mouth-watering with its tender meat. Both are priced at P168 and P320-350, respectively.

The Cha Tao Miao or stir fried snow pea sprouts on the other hand, proves to be light fresh and of course healthy! Per serving is at P150. There is also the yummy Shrimp Tempura for P168 per palate. The Okiname Tuna Belly at P90/100gm has a meaty, juicy taste where one is spared of that normal reeky smell when eating tuna meat. The restaurant team has just their own kept secret in doing that! One should also try the Grilled Pampano for P70/100gm, which is served just perfectly with enough tender and taste. Of course, meals won’t be complete without a drink or drinks to complement it. Choobi Choobi is just innovative enough to create their own rendition of a concocted House Blended Iced Tea with blended fruits at P35 a glass and P135 a pitcher. With all of these, what more can one certainly ask for but delight and “Choobi Choobi” for value for  money food!

The restaurant offers dishes made with the freshest shrimps, prawns, free-ranged chickens and not to mention organic vegetables straight from the owner’s farm.

Choobi Choobi is located at Parkmall, Mandaue City. Lunch and dinner are served from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. They are also open for bookings for functions and events. For inquiries, contact (032) 422 8686 or visit their Facebook page, Choobi Choobi.
