Students Benefits from UniFAST Program

Over 100,000 college students from Central Visayas benefited from the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) during the Academic Year 2018-2019.

According to Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Visayas Regional Director Dr. Maximo Aljibe 101,259 out of 228,859 college students who are enrolled on AY 2018-2019 were UniFAST grantees.

UniFAST is one of the programs under the R.A. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.

Grantees were provided with free tuition, miscellaneous, and other school fees in state universities and colleges, and universities and colleges under CHED.

The budget for Academic Year 2019-2020 will be P50 billion and hopes that more students will avail in the program Aljibe said. (ASC)
