Students Beef Up Red Cross Emergency Teams in Davao Norte Polls
Aside from regular volunteers, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responders were beefed up with the deployment of students from Panabo City during Monday’s elections.
PRC youth adviser Laurence Edward Zamora said he brought in 40 volunteers from Panabo National High School’s Emergency Response Team.
The volunteers, composed of grade 7 and senior high school students, were trained to reinforce the regular PRC emergency responders in assisting voters who sought first aid and basic life support from the Red Cross teams at the polling places.
PRC Davao del Norte Chapter deployed them to four major polling places in the City of Tagum, namely, Laureta National Elementary School, Apokon Elementary School, Imelda Pilot Elementary School and Tagum Comprehensive High School. (PIA-11)
