CAYAMORA DILABACUN
Cayamora is an Internally Displaced Person from Perez, Banggolo, Marawi City to Brgy. Daguan, Kapatagan, Lanaodel Sur. She is already 71 years old but observe to be strong and optimistic. She has 12 children, most of them were in Manila to search for their survival. Cayamora together with his physically challenge son live in a corn Sheller mill made of wood and other dilapidated light materials. She emotionally expressed all her challenges while they were staying in that place such as; they largely depend on the relief that they were receiving from different NGOs; they tapped solar light from their neighbor when they are eating their dinner; they evacuated the corn mill every Wednesday because the owner will use it; they have no prolonged source of electricity; they find it challenging when it rains heavy because their temporary shelter are not that strong to support them and their things can be wet.
October 24, 2017 when Cayamora received her Wakawaka Solar light. She was so thankful because it is easier for her to do her tasks like; when going to the comfort room at night; when eating dinner and since it is a solar they find it easier to charge it. She shared that before, they were forced to eat their dinner as early as possible because they have no source of light butshe can now enjoy her meal and able to eat whatever time they want since they have owned now a Solar light. They are no longer depending the tapped solar light from their neighbor since they have the Wakawaka.
RAMLA DIMAAMPAO
Ramla Dimaampao is one of the Internally Displaced Person staying in Upper Igabay Evacuation Center, Kapatagan, Lanaodel Sur. Her family came all the way from Barrio Naga, Marawi City one of the most affected barangay in the city. Until now, she doesn’thave any information on the status of their house. Currently she is living in an evacuation center together with her children and grandchildren. She planted vegetable at the backyard of their place that serves as their viand every meal. Her family largely depend on the relief that they are receiving from different organizations.
Ramla expressed her warmest thankful to the organizations that help hand in hand in providing them WakaWaka Solar lights. It serves as their source of light wherever they go. It greatly helped her lactating daughters every night when they are preparing their children’s milk. Her grandchildren can now go to comfort rooms on their own since they have a handy Solar lights.
MINANG MALACO
Minang Malacois is one of the brave mothers in Mahad Division Evacuation Center, Malabang, Lanaodel Sur. She is now 47 years old. They were formerly residing in Marinaut, Marawi City. She was so sad when she heard that their house was burnt. Her family largely depend on the relief that they are receiving. She is so willing to start a business but was not able to do so because she have no source of capital. She even shared the challenges that they faced before they arrived in Malabang. They walked kilometers away from their house to Sugod thinking that it was safe but it wasn’t. From Sugod they were forced again to transfer in Tubaran then in Malabang.
Minang is one of the blessed mother who received Wakawaka Solar light. She was so thankful because it helped her a lot in doing her household chores. They can now charge their phone for free unlike before that they pay 10 pesos per charge. She was so thankful because her children can even play freely at night without worrying that they might be hurt. The Solar light can be used overnight thus lessen her children’s fear in the dark every night.
