Stocks Slip After Christmas Day
The local stock market slipped on Wednesday, as the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell 0.40 percent or 29.7 points to 7,450.01 points.
All shares likewise declined by 0.26 percent to 4,489.92 points.
Majority of the counters ended the day weaker, but with mining and oil as well as property sectors closed in green territories, growing by 2.93 percent and 0.25 percent, respectively.
Industrial led losers, slipping 0.90 percent to 10,911.74 points.
Wednesday decliners included services, down 0.83 percent to 1,438.44 points; holding firms, down 0.71 percent to 7,316.86 points; and financials, down by 0.02 percent.
Losers outpaced gainers, 115 to 70, while 41 were unchanged. (PNA)
