Stay Indoors: EMB-7

The Environmental Management Bureau in Central Visayas (EMB)-7 advised all residents to stay indoors to avoid further health problems caused by the continuous hazy weather condition that Metro Cebu experienced lately.

Until this very day, smog and hazy weather are still visible brought by the monsoon (Hanging Habagat) from a forest fire in Indonesia. Due to this, people and animals can easily inhale particles that are harmful to the body.

EMB-7 advised everyone especially people with serious respiratory problems like asthma to stay indoors at the moment if possible to prevent the negative effects of the hazy weather.

EMB-7 also revealed that the dust particle has a reading of about 56 micro-grams per normal cubic meter, 6 micro-grams greater than the normal 50 micro-grams per normal cubic meter. The measurement is above the safe guideline.

People are suggested to were face masks and protective glasses/goggles upon going out.

Meanwhile, EMB-7 also encouraged everyone to consult health experts in case they acquire some symptoms like chest pain, cough, difficulty in breathing and more. (MLC)
