SSS Awards Most Compliant Employers
The Social Security System (SSS) recognized this year’s Balikat ng Bayan awardees for Visayas Central 1 Division at City Sports Club, Cebu Business Park, on August 29, 2018.
The awardees are employers who significantly contributed to the pursuit of the SSS mandate by painstakingly complying with coverage, collection, and release of benefits, accurately and timely submitting their reports, and participating and supporting SSS programs.
Conferred since 1995, the Balikat ng Bayan Awards is an annual event to represent SSS and its partners as a pair of helping arms or shoulders to lean on in times of need. It acknowledges the value of its partnership in providing universal, equitable, and viable social security benefits.
The awards are divided into three categories: Small/Micro, Medium, and Large employers. Alex Genelza, Information Officer of SSS Visayas, happily announced that each branch of the Visayas Central 1 Division had a nominee.
The awardees under the Small/Micro Employer are PAVRU Research Laboratory, Inc., Jute Rocks, Inc., The Ranch Resort, Inc., Dominican School of Cebu, Inc., Deokma Eight Trading, Inc., Bogo Medellin Medical Center, and the winner of the category, Solid Earth Development Corporation.
In the Medium Category, Sprobe, Inc., an IT and BPO company bested 7 others namely Oversea Feeds, Corp., Shurline Corporation, Magic Island Dive Resort, Inc., GMR Megawide Cebu Airport, Corp., Litecrete Corporation, St. Louisse de Marillac College of Bogo, and Bohol Light Co.
Small/Micro Employer awardees include PAVRU Research Laboratory, Inc., Jute Rocks, Inc., The Ranch Resort, Inc., Dominican School of Cebu, Inc., Deokma Eight Trading, Inc., Bogo Medellin Medical Center, and Solid Earth Development Corporation.
Cebu II Electric Cooperative won for the second time under the Large Employer category.
Other awardees are Qualfon Philippines Inc., Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc., Knowles Electronics (Philippines).
The Balikat ng Bayan Awards aim to encourage more employers from the private sector to provide social security protection to their employees.
“We continue to open more SSS offices and counters for the convenience of all our members and employers. At the moment, we have 7 SSS branches, 3 service offices, 5 extension offices already operating in the various areas in Cebu Province. In Bohol Province, 1 SSS Branch, 2 service office, and 3 extension offices also operational,” said Attorney Albert Montalbo, acting Vice President of SSS Visayas Central 1 Division while highlighting the measures SSS is taking to bring their services closer to the public.
The Social Security System is also celebrating its 61st Anniversary in continually providing Serbisyong Sulit na Sulit to all its stakeholders. (Bridgette May Bayhon/PIA7)
