SSS and GSIS Offer Loans and Financial Aid for Typhoon Kristine Survivors
The Social Security System (SSS) and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) have launched special loan and claim programs to support members, government workers, and pensioners affected by Typhoon Kristine.
SSS Calamity Loan Assistance for Typhoon Kristine Victims
SSS now provides immediate financial assistance to employed, self-employed, and voluntary members affected by Typhoon Kristine. Eligible members can access a one-month or two-month salary loan based on their contribution history.
To qualify, members need at least 36 monthly contributions for a one-month loan or 72 contributions for a two-month loan. Retiree-pensioners may also apply for the SSS pension loan, offering up to 12 times their Basic Monthly Pension, with a maximum amount of P200,000.
Applications are processed online through the My.SSS Portal, with approved funds deposited directly into members’ bank accounts. The loan has a 10% annual interest rate, with repayment options over 24 months, making it a flexible option for those recovering from financial hardships caused by Typhoon Kristine.
GSIS Property Damage Claims for Typhoon Kristine Survivors
GSIS offers a property and motor vehicle damage claims service to government employees, local government units, and GSIS-insured individuals who sustained losses.
Members are advised to document damage with photos or videos to streamline the claims process. Required documents include a notice of claim, property sketches, damage estimates, and other supporting paperwork for both motor and non-motor claims.
For motor claims, members need to submit the vehicle’s registration, a driver’s license, and an incident report.
Fast and Accessible Financial Relief for Typhoon Kristine Recovery
With both SSS and GSIS making loan and claim applications accessible online, members can quickly secure funds for urgent expenses and property repairs.
For more information on eligibility and application steps, members are encouraged to visit the official SSS and GSIS websites. These programs are designed to provide fast, accessible financial support to Filipinos rebuilding after Typhoon Kristine. (ASC)
