It’s a Sparkling Christmas at Robinsons Galleria Cebu

Smiles and Christmas lights brightened Robinsons Galleria Cebu on November 12, 2017, when mall-goers witnessed the much-awaited Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony graced by ABS-CBN actor Gerald Anderson. The star of the event, a towering European white fir tree, was decked in 16,000 energy-efficient LED lights—in keeping with Robinsons Galleria Cebu’s commitment to being a green mall with eco-friendly advocacies.

The Christmas Tree Lighting doesn’t just symbolize the fast-approaching holidays at Robinsons Galleria Cebu. It also celebrates the spirit of giving. The event officially launches the 2017 Festival of Trees, an annual fundraising activity that doubles as a Christmas tree exhibit. Various organizations join and create their own displays for the benefit of their enlisted charities. The best Christmas trees are decided online, where fans can cast votes through Robinsons Galleria Cebu’s Facebook page. The winning group’s chosen charity is awarded after the voting and deliberation period.

The Festival of Trees is on its third consecutive year, spreading the Christmas cheer to different charities. This year, the participating groups include the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. for First High School for the Hearing Impaired and PADS Paddlers, ABS-CBN for Bantay Bata 163, Selections for World Vision, Toys R Us for the Sacred Heart Parish Foundation, Glory Reborn for Glory Reborn Pregnant Mothers, Qualfon for Bonita Homes for Girls, Rare for Rare Organization, Real Imagination Home and Garden Furnishings for Voice – Values Orientation in Classroom Education, Robinsons Appliances for SOS Children’s Village, JCI Metro Cebu Uptown for Argao Cebu Weavers, Southwestern University for LUNAS – Loyal and United Non Academic Scholars of SWU PHINMA, Metafit for Patient SPO@ Brian Lou Guillen, CITRASCO – Cebu Integrated Transport Cooperative for Parian Drop off Center, True Value for International Care Ministry, Robinsons Department Store for Cebu Children Foundation, Marie Ernestine School for Marigondon National High School, Cebu Scrabble Association for K 0f Council 5038 Mabolo Parish, and Gialmore for DSWD.
