Southwest Monsoon to Bring Rain Over Western Luzon
Manila (PNA) — Except for the western section of Luzon, most parts of the country will experience fair weather on Tuesday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In Tuesday forecast, PAGASA said most parts of the country including Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the province of Bataan and Zambales will experience occasional rains due to the effects of southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” — the prevailing wind system during the rainy season — affecting western section of Luzon.
It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
The state weather bureau issued gale warning as strong to gale force winds associated with the surge of southwest monsoon still enhanced by Typhoon “Kalmaegi” is expected to affect the northern and western seaboards of Luzon.
“The fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger vessels are alerted against big waves,” PAGASA warned. (PNA) JBP/CLTC/JSD
