South Villages Get Infra
Villages in the municipalities of Argao and Dalaguete received Php 31 million worth of road, water system and public building projects.
Governor Hilario P. Davide III, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and second district Representative Wilfredo Caminero led the ceremonial inauguration of the projects last August 28.
Baragay Tabayag, Argao also received a mini ambulance from the Cebu Provincial Government.
Caminero said the farm-to-market road (FMR), which is about nine kilometers, is a vital link from Argao to the vegetable market in Barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete.
Around three kilometers of the Baragays Lapay-Tabayag-Canbantug FRM is newly concreted and ceremonially inaugurated.
Tabayag Barangay Captain Bernardo Reyes said the concreting of their road is a “dream come true” of the people of the barangay.
Caminero said the concreting of the road will continue in 2016.
A water system worth Php 5 million was also installed in Barangay Bulak, Dalaguete. The water system will supply water to the villagers in the hinterland part of Dalaguete.
The village, which is also a recipient of Php 2 million multi-purpose building, is situated in the border of Dalaguete and Argao.
The officials disputed the allegation that the President has zero infrastructure projects in Cebu.
Davide reiterated that Cebu will get P1.5 billion worth of road projects next year. These are all local road networks that would benefit the residents and visitors of tourist spots in the countryside.
Caminero said the fourth engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways, which is assigned to the second district, has a proposed budget of Php 1.3 billion for next year.
Both officials said these are now included in the 2015 national budget, which is still pending for approval in Congress.
