South Korea accused North Korea for carrying cyberattacks last month that caused to paralyze their system in banks and broadcasts.

Lee Seung-won, an official at the South Korean science ministry said that according to an official investigation, there are codes similar to the previous ones of North Korea.

This is the first time that Seoul formally directed its blame at Pyongyang, but observers said that South suspected the North already.

There are evidences like IP addresses and other elements that lead to North Korea.

South Korea believed that preparations of the North for these cyberattacks took eight months. It also affected the North’s websites and computers.

The allegation also connects to the dispute of the two countries and the repeated threat of war by the North.

The hacking occurred last March 20 infecting around 48,000 computers of banks and broadcasters in South Korea.

In 2010 and 2012, there were cyberattacks in South Korea that they believed have come from the North. Pyongyang didn’t accept the allegations.
