Project Happy Feet Slipper Race where over 300 participants walked their way in slippers around the 1-km jogging track and completed team challenges to raise P260,000 for Bantay Bata 163’s Bantay Edukasyon Program.

Organized by Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan, the slipper race is a fund raising event started by Project Happy Feet LTd, a Singapore based non-profit organization whose project principle Crimson adopted. This requires 100% of the registration fee of the event to be given to the chosen beneficiary which must support education and training of children, and at the same time absorbing the operational cost of organizing the event by the organizing committee or finding sponsors.

The race always starts with a 1km ceremonial walk which puts all participants on the shoe of the students and children who had to work kilometers just to go to school and get education. When it was time to play, the teams showed their competitive spirit in accomplishing all 6 pit stops which required team work and coordination among group members to efficiently accomplish the challenges.

PHF 2015

Each year the games and challenges change so repeat teams will be kept guessing, and there were quite a number of them. The stops for the resort edition race featured the resort’s team building activities such as aque duct, giant sack race, crossing the lava bed and shadow walk. Among other challenges was the word search and blow your mind.

Emerging victorious were teams from Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu, who finished third, Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) finishing second and also the raffle winner for the roundtrip Cebu-Narita tickets from Cebu Pacific and this year’s champion was the team from media partner Monster Radio.
