Sinulog Organizers Assure No Price Increase in Tickets for Main Venue

(PNA) — Sinulog organizers announced that the prices of tickets to Sinulog grand parade 2015 main venue on Jan. 18, the Cebu City Sport Center (CCSC) on Osmena Blvd., for this year’s event, remain the same.

Ricky Ballesteros, Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) executive director, said the price for the white tickets is still at P1,000.

Yellow tickets, on the other hand, will still be sold at P800; P700 for the pink tickets; and P500 for the green tickets.

Sinulog organizers sell an estimated 6,300 tickets for the grand parade every year.

Of the total number of tickets produced, 700 of these are white tickets, 2,200 are yellow tickets, 1,700 are pink tickets and 1,700 are green tickets.

These tickets are based on the seating capacity of the grandstand of the Cebu City Sports Center.

Ballesteros said the tickets for balikabayn guests for the grand parade will still be sold at P2,500.

For the Sinulog sa Kabataan, the ticket price will still be at P75; P50 for the Sinulog Festival Queen; and P100 for the Sinulog awarding ceremony.

Ballesteros said there is no increase in ticket prices because the increase in the prizes for the Sinulog winners will be shouldered by the Cebu City Government.

For this year’s celebration, the city has approved a total of P25 million for the Sinulog, which is P5 million higher compared to last year’s P20-million budget.

It was earlier reported that SFI has increased the prizes for the second place winners from P500,000 to P700,000, while third place winners will now get P500,000 from P300,000.

For fourth placers, they will already get P300,000 from P200,000 and P200,000 from P100,000 for the fifth place winners.

The prize money for the first placers remain at P1 million. (PNA) CTB/EB
