Sinulog Liquor Ban Violators Caught in the Act
Police and Sinulog Organizers apprehend around 20 people drinking liquor along J. Lorente St., Cebu City at around 11:45PM.
The arrest follows the liquor ban being implemented on certain parts of Cebu City including the 200m radius along the route of the Sinulog grand parade.
Apprehending officers told Metro Cebu News that the violators will be taken to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) for further investigation, where an estimated 30 other liquor ban violators were brought by other teams tasked to implement the liquor ban.
Bottles of liquor and cigarettes were found in the scene.
A Sinulog organizer said that they asked the violators of their age individually, to which none said that they were minors.
The true ages of the violators are still to be determined as of this writing.
If proven to be a minor, violator will then be placed in the hands of the DSWD where further processing of the violation will take place, the apprehending officer added. (GFB)
