Shopee Helps MSMEs Through e-Commerce Masterclass

Shopee partners with the local government units (LGUs) in Cebu to help MSMEs grow their businesses through online platforms or e-commerce.

The Shopee University Roadshow is a masterclass that educates MSMEs nationwide on how to drive their businesses forward through e-commerce and onboard into Shopee. By equipping them with the right tools and knowledge, MSMEs learn how to generate more sales and grow their buyer base.

“An easy and seamless online and selling experience through our platform. This is we why prepare this masterclass for you, the Shopee Uni Roadshow. We hope you’ll be able to learn more about the benefits of taking your business online,” said Shopee Philippines’ Head for People, Karen Lopez.

Cebu City Councilor Edgardo “Jaypee” Labella II said he is a witness to the potential of online platforms for growing business and he gives his support to Shopee’s program in helping MSMEs digitize their businesses.

“This is the very reason why I support this initiative because it gives budding entrepreneurs. When your entrepreneurs achieve financial freedom, the government can focus our efforts on other people’s needs, especially the grassroots,” Labella said.

Martin Yu, Director of Shopee Philippines, thanked the LGUs for lending their support in helping MSMEs grow their businesses through e-commerce.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City, and Cebu City that has enabled us to reach even more MSMEs across the Philippines. Through more partnerships and hub expansions, we will continue to help digitize even more Cebuano MSMEs through more iterations of the Shopee University Roadshow and Shopee Kamustahan,” Yu said.

Shopee Philippines also personally engaged with Shopee sellers in Cebu through Shopee Kamustahan — a casual gathering for them to exchange personal insights, advice, and best practices. (ASC)
