Seven Filipinos Make it in Forbes’ ’30 Under 30 Asia’ List
Seven remarkable young Filipinos have been recognized in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Asia” list, which celebrates exceptional individuals under the age of 30.
This prestigious honor highlights their outstanding accomplishments and contributions in various fields.
In the Finance and Venture Capital category, 25-year-old Aaron Villegas was acknowledged for his role as the CEO of Lista, a finance tracker app that assists individuals and small businesses in the Philippines.
Villegas’ app enables users to efficiently track their finances, plan their spending, and receive payment reminders. Since its launch in 2021, Lista has garnered over 1.6 million downloads, showcasing its widespread popularity.
Forbes also recognized the four Filipinos Under the Manufacturing & Energy category of Industry as Expedock founders Rui Aguiar, King Alandy Dy, Jeff Tan, and Jig Young, all between the ages of 25 to 27, were included in the list.
Expedock is an AI-powered automation service that revolutionizes supply chain businesses, automating manual processes and integrating physical and digital data sources onto a single platform. The company aims to streamline the movement of freight containers internationally.
The company’s services have gained the trust of major corporations such as Ascent, CEVA Logistics, and Jusda, highlighting their significant impact in the industry.
Meanwhile, in the Arts category, Manila-based fashion designer Isabel Sicat was honored for her role as co-founder of TOQA, a sustainable high fashion brand.
David Marquez, aged 28 and a co-founder of Shipmates, was listed in the Retail & Ecommerce category.
Forbes commended Marquez for his role in establishing the Manila-based delivery platform, which integrates “next-generation” shipping technology and infrastructure in the Philippines
The company was founded in August 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by the increased demand for e-commerce and courier services during that time.
Marquez’s prior experience includes co-founding t-shirt printing startup Shirt.ly and supply chain and storage startup Xpanse. (GFB)
