SYNOPSIS: at 3:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon “OMPONG” was located 665 km East of Infanta, Quezon (15.3°N, 127.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 255 km/h. It is moving West Northwest at 20 km/h. Southwest moonsoon is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
FORECAST: Visayas, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm due to Southwest monsoon / trough of Typhoon Ompong.
Strong to Gale Force winds from the Southwest to West will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas with rough to very rough seas. Moderate to strong winds from the Southwest to West will prevail over the rest of Visayas, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro with moderate to rough seas.
