SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon OMPONG was located based on all available data at 855km East of Virac, Catanduanes (14.3N, 132.1E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 255 kph. It is moving West at 30 kph. Southwest monsoon affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas & of Mindanao
FORECAST:
Visayas and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm due to Southwest monsoon / trough of TY Ompong. Occidental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
Strong to Gale Force winds from the Southwest to West will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas with rough to very rough seas. Moderate to strong winds from the Southwest to West will prevail over the rest of Visayas, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro with moderate to rough seas.
