Senator Bong Go Leads 66th Malasakit Center Launching
Spearheaded by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the 66th Malasakit Center in the country opened yesterday, February 25 at the Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital in Jagobiao, Mandaue City.
The said Malasakit Center is the 2nd one in Cebu after the first Malsakit Center launched in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in 2018.
“Ngayon meron na po tayong ika 66 na Malasakit Center all over the country, batas na po ito ngayon at nilagdaan na po ito ni Presidente Duterte nung nakaraang taon,” said Senator Go.
Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop for all qualified Filipinos especially indigenous individuals who seek decent medical and financial assistance. Representatives from Philippine Insurance Corporation,
Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) are inside Malasakit Centers.
“Hindi na po nila kailangang lumabas ng hospital kasi nandoon na ang mga ahensiya ng gobyerno at lahat po ng DOH-run hospitals maglalagay po tayo ng Malasakit Center including itong eversley,” said Go
“Halimbawa pa opera kayo yung bill covered nya is 45 thousand tapos hindi natin alam biglang magkaroon ng complications, mag baloon yung bill, dyan na papasok ang Malasakit Center, para mahimo ng zero
balance,” Go added
P5 million were handed to the hospital as the Malasakit Center’s initial fund.
Senator Go was with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and other top officials. (MLC)
