Senator Bong Go Aims to Institutionalize Malasakit Center

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go aims to institutionalize all Malasakit Centers nationwide.

He revealed this during his visit in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on Friday, September 27.

“Importante lang ani ma institutionalize siya sa tanang DOH-run hospitals sa tibook nasud ug importante lang sad gyud ani naay mga social workers nga mu man ana (It is important for Malasakit Centers to be institutionalized in all DOH-run hospitals in the country. It is also important to have social workers to man the facility),” Go said

Go added that Malasakit Centers are a one-stop shop since it has all the concerned government agencies inside to make the process faster and better.

“It’s a one stop shop concept para dili na sila kinanglan pa mu gawas gawas sa hospital. Naa na didto tanan, dili nato palisdan atong mga kaigsoonan (It’s a one stop shop concept so that people will no longer to get out of the hospital to process their transactions),” uttered Go.

Go also guaranteed to expand Malasakit Centers by establishing additional facilities in the northern and southern part of Cebu in the future.

Senator Go along with the Department of Health (DOH), National Housing Authority (NHA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) gave cash assistance and relief to fire victims.

Fire victims will receive cash assistance from Senator Go and another separate cash assistance from the mentioned government agencies.

Go interacted with the victims which made them very happy to see the senator with their own eyes.

It was known that there are 128 families who lost their homes when a fire broke out 2 weeks ago.

51 houses were said to be burned on the ground. (MLC)
