SEC Warns Public Not to Deal With Emgoldex Phils.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) warned the public to take the necessary precautions in dealing with scam investors.
SEC legal officer lawyer Alma Dalena said they issued the warning after receiving reports about an alleged investor who enticed Facebook netizens to invest their money with them.
Dalena identified EMGOLDEX PHILIPPINES “Pinoy Style Patak Patak”, who promised huge profits and high returns of investment.
Dalena also stated that per internet advertisement, EMGOLDEX assured the public that for an investment of P1,000, an investor will earn as much as P5,000 to P10,000 as profit in just a span of days.
It likewise enticed everybody to invest P35,000 cash and in return an investor will earn as much as P180,000 to P360,000.
Dalena expressed fear that moneyed people will definitely attract this offer but SEC has cautioned them not to immediately go with the advertisement.
Dalena said SEC has a very strong reason to discourage people from transacting with this company because per verification, it was learned that EMGOLDEX PHILLIPPINES is not a SEC registered corporation.
Dalena further said that such entity is not authorized to solicit investments from the public knowing their illegal existence.
“They did not seek registration from SEC, therefore they are operating illegally,” Dalena said.
In view of such discovery, the SEC has advised everybody to exercise self-restraint from investing their money into such “high yield-high risk investment scheme”.
Dalena also cautioned the public not to deal with the above named entity and any other investments who are operating without license from the government.
She urged everybody who may have knowledge about the existence of EMGOLDEX PHILIPPINES to immediately report it to the SEC Enforcement and Investor Protection Department at Telephone numbers 584-7187 and 584-7652.
This is for SEC to take legal actions against this business name, Dalena said.
