SEC Warns Public Against Unregistered Investment Schemes

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a warning to the public regarding two entities, S&C Shamai Cloverleaf Group of Companies Inc. and Camacho Trading, who have been illegally soliciting investments without the necessary license from the Commission.

The public has been enticed by these groups to invest in their schemes, which promise high and guaranteed returns. Camacho Trading claims to be involved in newspaper packaging supplies trading, importing Korean newspapers for wrapping various items, and offering a 10% monthly return on any investment amount. However, the SEC’s database shows that Camacho Trading is not registered as a corporation or partnership and has no authority to accept or take investments from the public.

Similarly, S&C Shamai Cloverleaf Group of Companies Inc., which consists of Shamai Best Food Hub, Shamai Burger, Shamai Best Pizza, Clover Leaf Realty Development, Clover Leaf Administration of Financial Marketing, Broom Broom Express, and Shamai Tech Computer Trading, has been enticing the public to invest in their companies for a minimum capital of Php 10,000, with a promise of a guaranteed return of 10% to 25% per month. Broom Broom Express is also offering a guaranteed 25% monthly interest for a renewable period of 6 months for a capital of Php 89,000.

The SEC advises the public not to invest in these schemes or stop investing if they already have. The public is also informed that S&C Shamai Cloverleaf Group of Companies Inc. and its subsidiaries are not authorized to solicit investments from the public, having not secured prior registration and/or license to sell securities or solicit investments as prescribed under Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.
