Sandigan Issues Hold Departure Order Vs Revilla, Et Al.
Following the issuance of a hold departure order (HDO) against Senator Jinggoy Estrada, the Sandiganbayan issued Tuesday another hold departure order this time against Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and alleged pork barrel scam brains Janet Lim-Napoles and their co-accused involved in the P10-billion PDAF scam.
Sandiganbayan First Division issued a hold departure order against Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., the second of three senators alleged to be involved to the pork barrel scam to be made subject of a hold departure order.
A hold departure order effectively prevents one from going outside the country.
The Fifth Division earlier issued the same order preventing Sen. Jinggoy Estrada from leaving the country.
In a television interview, Revilla said that even without the the HDO, he will stay in the country to face the plunder and graft charges.
The actor-turned-senator said he expected the move after learning the issuance of the same order against Sen. Estrada.
“The fact na lumabas iyong kay Senator Jinggoy kahapon, pupwedeng lumabas na rin ‘yung sa akin anytime. Eto nga, lumabas. Okay lang.” Revilla said over a phone interview in GMA News TV’s News To Go on Tuesday morning.
The anti-graft court earlier consolidated Revilla’s plunder and graft charges.
Businesswoman and alleged mastermind of the scam Janeth Lim-Napoles was also included in the hold departure order along with Sen. Revilla’s senior staffer Richard Cambe and two of Napoles’ employees, Ronald John Lim and John Raymund De Asis. Ronald John Lim is a nephew of Napoles while John Raymond de Asis is said to be Napoles’ driver.
