San Remegio Bayani Challenge homeowners to get livelihood
San Remegio town Mayor Jay Olivar announced that apart from new homes, Bayani Challenge recipients will also be provided with livelihood projects where they can earn additional income from, especially that most of them rely on farming alone.
Olivar said they will first introduce basket weaving for a start to 30 families in Barangay San Miguel, beneficiaries of the Bayani Challenge houses. San Remegio recently hosted, and supported by local and foreign volunteers, this home-building project, which brought in 30 houses for the families of Barangay San Miguel. Olivar said the idea of providing a new line of livelihood for these families is to augment their income from farming. The mayor assured that the local government will help in marketing their finished products.
