Samsung Collaboration with ‘Fake’ Supreme Stirs Controversy

Samsung is in hot water after they announced a collaboration with the “Fake” Supreme brand from Italy. Supreme Italia became ‘legal-fake’ after the italian courts favored the local brand from the original Supreme in New York City.

Supreme Italia one of the many ‘legal fake’ brands that got away with the loopholes of the intellectual property law.

Hypebeasts from around the world were disappointed when Samsung announced the said collaboration. Samsung clarified that they are partnering with Supreme Italia and not Supreme NYC.

With Samsung as its first major partner, Supreme Italia plans to open its first stores in China next year. Samsung has not yet announced what products would be sold under the Samsung x Supreme collaboration.

James Jebbia of Supreme NYC posted an Instagram story regarding the issue and said that they are not connected with Samsung and is not opening any stores in China.

“Supreme is not working with Samsung, opening a flagship location in Beijing or participating in a Mercedes-Benz runway show. These claims are blatantly false and propagated by a counterfeit organization,” Supreme NYC said in an Instagram story.
