Expanding its Chromebook range, Samsung has just announced the Chromebook 2 series. The South Korean giant has revealed that the new Chromebook series, which includes two models: 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch configurations, will be available starting April.
The 13.3-inch model will boast of a Full HD (1920×1080) LED display, 4GB of DDR3L RAM, and 16GB of onboard storage.
On the other hand, the smaller Chromebook sports an 11.6-inch HD LED display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, 4GB DDR3L RAM and 16GB built-in storage.
Each model has an octa-core Samsung Exynos processor (2.1GHz for the 13.3-inch and 1.9GHz for the 11.6-inch).
Ports include USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, a microSD card slot and a headphone/mic jack. The 11-inch model comes in black and white while the 13-inch is available only in gray. Both models feature the stitched, textured design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on their lids.
Samsung promises 8.5 and 8 hours of run time for the large and small models, respectively.
Apart from that, the Google Chrome OS that comes pre-loaded with the Samsung Chromebook 2 Series would also auto-update itself regularly, ensuring that users remain on top of its software version all the time.
Available later this April, the 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 and 13.3-inch Samsung Chromebook 2 will retail for $319.99 (Php 14, 400 approximately) and $399.99 (Php 18, 000 approx), respectively.
