Russia Successfully Tests New, Modernized Anti-Missile System
Russian military has successfully tested its new modernized anti-ballistic missile system in Kazakhstan, Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper reported Monday.
Andrey Prikhodko, deputy commander of the Air and Missile Defense of the Aerospace Forces said that the new modernized anti-ballistic missile system has successfully struck a conventional target at a designated time, according to the official military daily.
The newspaper also noted that the anti-missile system, armed with a military communications system, is designed to protect Moscow against air and space strikes, as well as to perform tasks in the interests of missile attack warning systems and control of outer space.
“Its tactical and technical characteristics concerning the range, accuracy, and duration of operation are much higher than the counterparts currently in service,” said Prikhodko. (Xinhua)
