The Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) was asked by Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Dino to submit their entire project proposals for 2021.

Secretary Dino requested them to pass today, February 21.

The submission is mainly to prepare ahead of time the said future projects to be also submitted to the joint Regional Development Council (RDC) – Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) meeting this March. Meanwhile, The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) was the one who set the deadline based on the National Budget Memorandum Circular 133 set last December 2019.

Secretary Dino asked all the members of 12 different clusters to submit their project proposals regarding the issues on conflict-affected barangays.

During a meeting with RTF-ELCAC members, Secretary Dino commended the Department of Interior and Local Government for their consistent efforts in completing the series of “Dagwayan sa Barangay: Talakayan at Serbisyo sa Mamamayan” that ultimately resulted to the handing over of issues and concerns as well as project proposals that will address the same at the grassroots level.

Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary Anthony Gerard “Jonji” Gonzales was also designated as the chairman of the RTF 7 ELCAC Technical Working Group (TWG).

All agencies however, were encouraged to continuously work with tenacity to achieve and maintain sustainable peace and development. (MLC)
