RPOC 7 Honors Davide for Dedication, Leadership as Council Head
Outgoing Governor and Vice Governor-elect Hilario P. Davide III was recognized by officers and members of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) 7 during their second quarter meeting held at the Capitol Social Hall on Tuesday, June 18.
Police Regional Office 7 Director Debold Sinas, RPOC vice chairperson, represented by Pcol. Ildebrandi N. Usana, and Department of Interior and Local Government 7 Director Leocadio Trovela led the handing over of a plaque of recognition to Davide, acknowledging the contributions of the incoming vice governor in serving as RPOC 7 chairperson.
“In grateful acknowledgement of his distinguished and invaluable dedication and leadership as Regional Peace and Order Council chairperson (CY 2016-2019) thereby immeasurably contributing to the success of the council,” the plaque of recognition read.
Davide thanked all the members of RPOC 7 for their sincere cooperation and to President Rodrigo Duterte for his trust and confidence in appointing him as the chairperson of RPOC 7.
Davide’s term as governor will end on Sunday noon, June 30, 2019, and so as his chairmanship of RPOC 7.
During the meeting, the council approved three items, including two resolutions.
These resolutions are: 1) Enjoining RPOC 7 member agencies to support the National Task Force-End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) under Executive Order No. 70; and 2) Denouncing the Communist-Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and declaring them as Persona Non Grata in all provinces, cities and municipalities in Region 7.
The third item was the adoption of the Cebu City Management and Coordinating Committee’s resolution on the use of siren on Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) vehicles.
The committee resolution sought the assistance of the DILG secretary to exempt the BJMP motor vehicles from the enforcement of Presidential Decree 96 that prohibits the use of sirens, blinkers, horns and other gadgets to get through road traffic ahead of other motorists.
The decree, however, exempts the motor vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, National Bureau of Investigation, Land Transportation Office, Philippine National Police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. The BJMP is seeking to be included among the vehicles exempted from the enforcement of this decree. (Cebu Provincial Govt.)
