Robredo Opens PagIbig Calamity Loan to LAWIN Victims
Vice President and Chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, Leni Robredo announced on October 24, 2016 that PAGIBIG Calamity loan is now to available to member victims of typhoon Lawin.
Robredo promised a faster loan processing, however the housing czar stressed that only those residing in areas declared under state of calamity can apply.
Provinces placed under a state of calamity are Cagayan, Mountain Province, Ilocos Norte, Kalinga and Apayao.
Interested members have 90 days to file from the date of the declaration of State of Calamity in their area and to present two valid identification cards and a properly filled up loan application form.
“Rest assured that Pag-IBIG’s regional offices are ready to help to speed up the processing of calamity loans. Our teams are complete, and the Pag-IBIG branches in Northern Luzon are open to process calamity loan,” Robredo said.
Robredo gave assurance that she will be sending a PAG-IBIG team to assess damage on mortgaged properties in calamity-hit areas to assist in filing insurance claim applications.
The DSWD reported that total number of damaged houses in Lawin affected areas is 80,774. (RJB.LFB/PIA-NCR)
