Revival of Tourism, Agriculture and MSMEs in Central Visayas in the Works
Unified protocols are now being planned by the four provinces in Central Visayas (Region-7) to revive the tourism, agriculture and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sectors.
Regional directors of the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) along with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas held a meeting to discuss the region’s economic plan for the new normal.
Different government agencies have been doing their part in creating an inter-province protocol plan for tourism and agricultural industries.
The said meeting was considered to be the Governor’s Summit Prelude that will take place in the province of Siquijor this week. The said summit will discuss regional concerns on the economy.
Health sector and other key industries will have inter-province unified protocols.
Meanwhile, DOT will also create a tourism recovery plan for the region to be presented in front of the governors.
The governors of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor had agreed earlier that they come up with a regional plan on how they can gradually reopen the economy, especially the tourism industry which is a key economic growth driver. (MLC)
