Revilla Turns Self to Sandiganbayan
Following the Sandiganbayan’s order for the issuance of his arrest warrant, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. went to the Sandiganbayan Friday at around 10 am to surrender after the Anti-Graft Court found probable cause in plunder and graft charges against him in relation to the P10-billion peso ‘pork barrel’ scam.
Reports said the Senator arrived in Commonwealth, Quezon City at exactly 10:47 in the morning.
The Anti-Graft Court First Division Justice Efren Dela Cruz has signed Revilla’s warrant of arrest.
While the crime of plunder is a non-bailable offense, Justice Dela Cruz sets bail of P300,000 for the graft charges.
On Thursday, Revilla said there is no need to arrest him as he is willing to turn himself into the the anti-graft court.
Revilla’s lawyer, Attorney Joel Bodegon, said his client prefers to be detained in Camp Crame, if the court will allow it, adding that they will file a petition for bail today, report said.
